The Challenge

Of Saving

The World's Coral Reefs

Escape Room SOS from the Deep is a project of the Coral Traingle Center (CTC).

SOS From the Deep

Are you ready to take on the challenge of saving the world’s coral reefs?

Coral Reefs need our help now! More than 27% of the world’s coral reefs are already lost. If we don’t do anything about it, almost all of our coral reefs will be gone by 2050 and there will be more plastics than fish in the ocean!

Why are coral reefs so important for our future? They are complex and very valuable ecosystems and provide habitats for a huge diversity of species.

Coral reefs are critical for the economy supplying food and income and serve as natural barrier against storms, hurricanes and typhoons protecting shorelines. By playing this game, you will learn about the many ways that we can do to protect our coral reefs.

For this exciting experience you will form team of highly skilled underwater explorers who will be able to crack codes and find solutions to preserve our marine ecosystems.

Time for some serious action! Save the world’s reefs before it’s too late.

SOS plastic danger

ARE YOU READY TO SAVE OUR SEAS FROM PLASTIC POLLUTION?

Escape Room SOS Plastic Danger is a unique escape game takes you to the depths of the ocean to save our planet and ourselves from drowning in plastic soup!

Did you know that the scientists estimate that over 220 million tons of plastic is produced every year all over the world, and more than half of that is used once and thrown away within 12 months?  Sadly, 8 million tons of this plastic waste ends up in the ocean every year, too! That’s roughly an equivalent of one truckload of plastic going into the seas every 60 seconds.

Plastic pollution is one of the most widespread problem affecting our marine environment. It threatens the health of our ocean, kills marine life who mistake it as food, enters our food chain through the fish that we eat, threatens the health of our coastal ecosystems, including our favourite beaches and marine tourism sites.

By playing Escape Room SOS Plastic Danger, you will form a team of highly skilled individuals who will tackle one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time. You will learn about the huge impact that plastic has to our environment and seek solutions to this enormous problem before it’s too late.

Hurry, time is running out! Take the challenge to save ourselves from plastic pollution!

SOS Faq

Is the room scary?

No. The room is challenging and exciting, but not scary at all. You don't have to worry even if you’re claustrophobic. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. You are not forced to do anything you don’t want to, and you can always ask to leave the room if you feel uncomfortable.

Can my 12-year old son/daughter join my team?

Yes, of course! They are the ace player on the team! However, our puzzles are not suitable for children below 6 years old.

Can our 13-year old children and their young friends play without any adult supervision?

Probably not. Some puzzles are tricky and would be difficult to solve without adult inputs. We’ve had groups of 14 year olds and they managed well, so we set the minimum age requirement at 14+ for groups without adults. A chaperone of 18 years or older is required for younger players. However, our puzzles are not suitable for children below 6 years old.

Can we play with more than six participants?

Six players is our maximum. It is the ideal number to solve all the puzzles and have a comfortable experience inside the escape room.

I am traveling solo, can I play the escape room by myself?

It’s great that you have an adventurous spirit but some of our puzzles require team effort to solve. A minimum of two players is required to play the escape room.

Can we be a little tipsy when we play?

Not even a little. Remember that you are going to the depths of the ocean and being intoxicated underwater is lethal in real life. Our game master will remove a player from the game if they feel that they’re intoxicated or disrupting the game flow.

Do we need to be physically fit to play the game?

Yes, you have to be physically fit to play our escape room as some puzzles require medium physical ability to complete.

We are a group of seniors on holiday, can we play the escape room?

Some of our puzzles require medium physical ability to complete and this may not be suitable for senior players.

Do you take unpaid reservations?

Yes, you can book by calling us at least two hours before you want to play the escape room and you can make the payment onsite. The rate for onsite payment is higher than bookings made online.

Cancellation policy for online bookings

You are entitled to a full refund if you cancel one day (24 hours) before your scheduled booking. If you arrive late for your booking, you are not entitled to a refund.

Is there a special price for children?

Yes! Children below 12 years are entitled to a special rate. However, our puzzles are not suitable for children below 6 years old.

Do you implement strict COVID-19 protocols?
Yes, we are fully aware of the current pandemic situation; thus we implement strict Covid-19 Protocols.
  1. Limit 3-4 players per session.
  2. Conduct body temperature checks before entering the escape rooms.
  3. All players are required to wear masks and gloves while playing the game.
  4. We strictly sanitize our escape rooms after each session.

About us

Escape Room SOS from the Deep and Escape Room SOS Plastic Danger are Indonesia’s first ever marine conservation themed escape rooms located in Bali. The escape rooms are a project of the Coral Triangle Center (CTC) and are part of CTC’s Center for Marine Conservation in Sanur. CTC is an Indonesian non-profit organization with a regional scope and global impact. CTC provides education and training to make sure that marine protected áreas within the Coral Triangle are managed effectively. We support on-the-ground conservation programs through our learning sites in Nusa Penida in Bali and the Banda Islands in Maluku.

We catalyze collective action in the Coral Triangle by leading networks of women leaders, local government executives, private sector champions, who engage and implement marine resource conservation in Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste. We are expanding our impact by developing the Center for Marine Conservation which will serve as a center of excellence for marine conservation training programs, outreach activities, as well art and cultural exhibits to raise awareness and influence approximately 1.5 million people by 2025 to protect and care for the oceans and those that depend on it.

All proceeds from our escape rooms support our marine conservation projects in Indonesia and the Coral Triangle. For more information about CTC, please visit: www.coraltrianglecenter.org
